You know, Donkey Kong isn't just a barrel-throwing womanizer. Donkey Kong has his own SAGA of HEROIC ENDEAVORS (even though he got kidnapped 2/4 of the time) and his own BAND OF FRIENDS AND ENEMIES........
yet some people I can't mention never quite left the eighties
no offense to anyone... I just get a little sour whenever someone thinks DK as a mere Mario enemy
I'm silly like that
He is not bad he is good
Two words: ANIMAL ABUSE!
Among these requests is a sort of a Diddy Kong spinoff game. I've seen some action-adventure games like Assassin's Creed or the Batman Arkham series and I figured out that Diddy could have his own game like that with plenty of parkour, "cartoon violence," and of course the light-hearted humor that would ensure the game doesn't take itself too seriously, only that the jokes are far less crude and the moments end up being cute.
Then again, most of the fans aren’t exactly helping the fandom either; they act as if the DKC/DKL trilogy, the arcade game and DKCR were the only DK games ever made and pretty much deny the existence of all the other great DK games simply because they weren’t carbon-copies of DKC like they wanted.
Take away Diddy Kong Racing and there would be no Banjo or Conker!
Take away Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong loses his jetpack and pistols!
Yup and it they want to attract new fans while keeping older fans interested they also have to make 3D games and other game that play differently from DKC. I love DKC but it’s not like they could’ve spent the last 18 years making nothing but side scrollers. That would have been boring. Take Mario for example. He’s had 4 NSMB games (5 if you count NSLU), two 3D games that play like NSMB (SM3DL and SM3DW) and they even made a Super Paper Mario play like the old SMB and made both Mario Galaxy games linear and devoid of freedom to “make it easier for fans of the SMB/NSMB games to enjoy” and people are sick of it. Imagine the hate that a less popular series like DK would have gotten. The reason why DKCR was so well received was because it had been 14 years since we had a main DK game (all the other games he had had after DK64 were spin-offs) otherwise nobody would have cared.
What I remembered the most from the Donkey Kong games and of the other Rareware titles is that sort of cute vs. creepy theme.
However, since I'm also a fan of Assassin's Creed and a pseudo-fan of Linux's mascot, I've been thinking of some Donkey Kong games myself. Anyone who wishes to do a Donkey Kong 3D game should definitely look at Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag because I can relate that game to the Donkey Kong franchise (and the Goldeneye franchise as well) as easily as I can relate Ezio Auditore to both Mario and Sonic. (monguin.deviantart.com/art/Sup… story by me by the way) A Diddy Kong solo game that is also 3D might also be interesting, but apparently, it would not be for people who love killing things or just straight combat like Halo. I also told CalibruStrawberry, which I think is actually a Linux developer of some kind, about my ideas for a probable Donkey Kong clone with Tux.
Mario and Dk may have their rivalries...but they are still buds......Plus somethings tells me that in the last mario vs dk games.......DK and Pauline were testing to see if the minis work....but putting Mario and the minis through hell.
Thanks! Yeah, I kind of live and breathe DKC... it's getting really out of hand lately. Not something I should be proud of.
Dk ins't a villain!but a hero!
DKC2 is the reason i began loving nintendo.
poor game (and its amazing soundtrack) was overlooked for...mario.
